Oscillograph also known as oscilloscope is an electronic instrument commonly used to display the signals as a function of time. Usually it is a 2-Dimension planner representation through which we can get following information of signal:-
(1) Amplitude/ Magnitude of the signal.
(2) Signal Frequency
(3) Signal phase
(4) Angular speed/ momentum of signal.
A typical oscillograph can exhibit alternating current or pulse rated direct current having frequency from 1Hz to several hundred GHz. Its screen can be divided into horizontal grids and vertical grids. Time domain analysis of a signal is achieved through this device having time as perimeter on x or horizontal axes and Voltage values or magnitude on the y-vertical axes.
