In Ferranti Effect, receiving end voltage is greater than sending end voltage. Why?

As the length of transmission line increases, under no load or light load conditions, the receiving end voltage rises above sending end voltage due to line capacitance.The charging current produces a voltage drop in the series reactance of the line. This is the reason for sending end voltage being smaller than receiving end voltage.
