Yes, you are right...thank you for your answer.
TOD stands for Time of Day. the whole day hour is categorized into two types: one is pick hour & another one is up pick hour. A consumer will get some rebate in up pick hour by some % on their energy consumption decided by state electricity board. so they can comsume energy in that mentioned time for which they will get some relaxation on consumption. This is applicable for a commercial consumer like plants.

That's why we might have noticed that most of the plants they do their production on up pick hour. now the govt made a survey to know where is it going helpful for domestic consumer or not.

TOD is varied from state to state depending upon the state tariff.

A tariff structure in which at different time of the day different rates of electricity are applicable. This model is purely dependent upon the time we use electricity most in a plant and the time less electricity is used. It is mostly used in industrial sectors but nowadays this tariff model also introduced in domestic.

In this metering, the charging on a unit is different at different time which is a dependent domain of time and usage.

Why time of day structure?

Electricity grids can be compared to mobile network traffic, on busy hours lots of
People use the same network thus block the network like road is jammed on peak hours office trimmings likewise in TOD people will switch to a time when prices are less or will start using electrical appliances.

It has been also regarded as Time of Usage (TOU) metering or Seasonal Time of Day (SToD). This includes metering included dividing the day, month and year into tariff slots with high rates at peak time and lower rate at crest timming.
