Piezoelectricity is a phenomenon or a process in which electricity is resulting from mechanical vibration of an element. This is also considered as electricity from pressure according to its name derived from Greek word piezein, which means to squeeze or press, and elektron, which means amber (crystal resin), an ancient source of electric charge.

Now various electrical instrument has been made based on this principle. for e.g to drive an ultrasonic nozzle, generation of high voltages, electronic frequency generation, microbalances, etc.
