1. Ns is the synchronous speed of motor.
2. Nr is the rotor speed in motor.
When synchronous speed is greater than rotor speed. The induction motor is being converted into generator.If the conversion happens this means that reverse process of an induction motor i being executed.

Formula describing relationship between synchronous speed and rotor speed is:-

(Ns-Nr)/Ns = S , Where S is the slip in motor.
